Fashion retailer Michael Kors will open its first flagship store in England on London‘s Regent Street in autumn 2015.

The 15,000 sq ft store, currently under construction, will be the brand‘s largest in Europe and will showcase its range of shoes, handbags, eyewear and jewellery.

“Regent Street is the ideal location to open our largest Michael Kors store in Europe,” said John D. Idol, CEO of Michael Kors. “It‘s a vibrant and exciting street, and a global shopping destination. Regent Street is the perfect place to open a flagship store and present our men‘s retail concept to Europe.”

It will be its second store, following the opening of the SoHo flagship in New York, to present the men‘s wear line on its own floor.

The news follows British brand Hunter will open its own flagship store on Regent Street this autumn.

The retailer is fast emerging as a force to be reckoned with in the luxury retail space as profit and revenue jumped more than 50 per cent in the fourth quarter of 2013. The Crown Estate is investing £1bn in Regent Street to create an international destination.

David Shaw, head of The Crown Estate‘s Regent Street portfolio said: “Michael Kors is a name synonymous with luxury, style and high quality craftsmanship – attributes that perfectly complement Regent Street‘s position as a world class shopping destination for global brands and flagship stores.”
