High street retailer Marks & Spencer (M&S) has today announced that Director of New Channels Susan Aubrey-Cound is to leave the company after more than a decade working for the group.

News of Aubrey-Cound‘s departure comes just a day after it was confirmed that Brand Director for General Merchandise Alison Jones had left the retailer less than a year after joining the firm.

Aubery-Cound had held the position of Director of New Channels for six months but originally joined M&S at the beginning of the last decade as Head of Menswear Marketing, before first being promoted to Group Head of Marketing and then becoming Executive Assistant to former CEO Sir Stuart Rose.

In July 2009 she became Director of Multichannel Development and oversaw the group‘s early adoption of m-commerce, before taking up her current role where she recently announced the creation of a M&S TV app.

An M&S spokesman said: “Susan is stepping down from her role as New Channels Director in the multichannel team in order to pursue broader management opportunities in multichannel marketing.

“Susan leaves with our thanks for her extensive contribution to the M&S business over the last 11 years and our best wishes for the future.”

Both Aubrey-Cound and Jones formed part of CEO Marc Bolland‘s restructured management team which took shape last year with the dual primary focus of improving the company‘s own-brands and enhancing its multichannel offer.

While no direct replacement for Jones will be made by M&S, with current Brand Director for Food assuming her responsibilities, the retailer is understood to be searching for someone to fill Aubrey-Cound‘s role.

Before joining M&S, Aubrey-Cound worked at fashion retailer Moss Bros and aviation giant BAA in marketing manager roles.
