Luxury women’s fashion brand Max Studio is to open a store in London, as the US-based retailer continues to focus on expansion, it was announced today.
Max Studio, which has over 7,000 stores in the US and Asia, will open a store on Westbourne Grove in London this November.
The brand is the latest in a slew of US retailers setting their sights on the UK market, following large store openings for Forever 21 stores earlier this year, as well as youth label Hollister increasing its high street presence.
As many within the retail sectors continue to struggle for sales during the unpredictable economic climate, foreign retail investors are jumping on the opportunity to overtake empty units, with Italian shoe specialists Carlo Pazolini and Portuguese fashion brand Sacoor Brothers opening stores recently, while Japanese fashion retailer Uniqlo re-launched its West End store earlier this month.
An advertising campaign is to be launched in conjunction with the Max Studio opening, fronted by International Model Katia Elizarova, who will be the face of the global company following in the footsteps of Rosie-Huntington-Whitely and Lily Cole.
Founded in 1979, the company now has over 40 of its own retail stores in the U.S. and over 50 outlets across Asia.
“Max Studio has achieved great success internationally by focussing on a luxurious style that always results in head-turning clothing and I’m very proud to be working with such a creative company,” Elizarova commented.
“It’s an exciting time for me to be involved with the brand as it continues its international expansion in launching a London boutique and I look forward to working with them to tell that story.”
The model was selected personally by founder and head designer Leon Max, who believes that she is the perfect match for the growing brand.
“It is a great time to launch our flagship store in London at the height of the fashion season and I look forward to invigorating the UK market with my collections,” Max added.
