High street fashion retailer River Island has this week launched international deliveries on its e-commerce website.
As of yesterday, customers of Riverisland.com can now organise purchased products to be shipped to over 100 countries in Europe, Central and South America, Asia, Australasia, the Middle East, the Caribbean and Russia.
The complete womenswear, menswear and kidswear collections will be available to international shoppers as will the newly launched Chelsea Girl heritage range along with limited edition items which are exclusive to online customers.
Ben Lewis, CEO of River Island, commented: “The launch of International shipping is a huge step forward for the River Island brand.
“We are confident that this step will increase our brand awareness in new markets worldwide and in turn support the current international store network by offering our customers the additional opportunity to shop at River Island online 24 hours a day.”
A number of UK-based fashion retailers have been planting more of their flags on foreign soils over the last year, with many such as pure play specialist Asos opening country-specific websites to cash in and help boost trading.
River Island has been expanding its store presence in the Russia, Poland and Benelux regions over the last two years, and a further six outlets will open in Russia and Poland before the end of the year.
It will also unveil at least another six stores in the UK & Ireland, having recently launched a new concept flagship at the Westfield Stratford shopping centre.
