Retail solutions company Collectec has announced the launch of the World‘s 1st Beacon enabled order collection system for Click & Collect. The system enables retailers to build Collectec‘s Beacon components into their consumer smart Phone App. When a customer arrives in store to collect an order, the store Beacons trigger the App to display a notification message on the customer‘s phone confirming their order is in-store and asks them if they would like to collect it now.

Having answered “Yes” to this prompt via a simple swipe, the App then sends all the collection information such as name, order reference (and where they are in the store) direct to Collectec mobile devices carried by the store staff. This allows staff to instantly receive all they need to locate the order and bring it to them at a pre-defined meeting point. Should the customer wish to defer their collection until later in the store visit they simply ignore the message or select “Later”. When ready to collect, they simply select the alert from their notification screen and then select “Yes”. Straight forward collection replacing queue time with browse & buy time.

Adding Beacon technology to the solution means customers have the convenience & control of being able to “check in” to collect goods from their own smart phone. Retailers have the most efficient method of serving Click & Collect customers no matter when, where or how they arrive at the store. Staff are able to stay multi-functional and be called to help with Click & Collect customers as they are needed.
