Commercial property company Land Securities has announced that Company Secretary Peter Dudgeon is stepping down after 12 years in the role.
Adrian de Souza will replace Dudgeon, taking up the newly created position of Group General Counsel and Company Secretary, on November 1st.
Before joining Land Securities, de Souza worked for brewery group SAB Miller where he was Head of Legal for the company’s European region.
Commenting on his appointment, de Souza said: “I am excited to be joining Land Securities as they embark on development projects in both London and retail.
“They are a company with an impressive history and I look forward to taking over from Peter and playing a part in the exciting times that lie ahead.
“It will obviously take me a little while to get to know the business and I am glad that Peter will be staying on for a handover period to help me settle in.”
Land Securities has continued to build retail developments through the difficulties of recent years and last month announced a £15 million expansion at the Bridges shopping centre in Sunderland.
Dudgeon commented: “Land Securities has never been dull and after 12 years the time feels right to take a break before looking for a new challenge.
“I wish Adrian well in the role and look forward to helping him get to know the company and the property world over the coming weeks.”
