A click and collect service has been launched on petsathome.com for the first time this week.
Customers of the pet product retailer can now order items from its website and collect them from one of its 275 UK stores.
The service has been developed using BT Expedite’s integrated store multichannel solution and using the e-commerce platform developed by systems integration company Salmon in 2009.
Matt Stead, Director of Multichannel at Pets at Home, said: “Click and Collect was part of our strategy when we implemented a new e-commerce Platform last year.
“The process to implement click and collect was pretty straightforward and results so far demonstrate that the investment was worthwhile.”
First established in 1991, Pets at Home offers pet supplies, pet food and toys & accessories for pet owners.
Its website was launched in 2008 which immediately offered online transactions but this new initiative has linked store and internet service together for the first time.
