Online fashion house Asos.com has launched a new internet shopping platform that allows consumers to purchase goods from a number of popular high street and internet-only clothing retailers.
The Fashion Finder portal complements the existing Asos.com site, but also offers online access to more than 50 other companies such as Urban Outfitters, Reiss, Ted Baker and My-Wardrobe.com.
Asos will work with these retailers on a commission-based model, which applies to all transactions made, and aims to bring high street, midmarket and luxury brands together in one place.
In a strong move towards providing social commerce opportunities, customers and participating retailers alike will be able to personalise their content through fashion videos and the creation of their own outfits, as well as encourage feedback from other members of the community.
Fashion Finder comes soon after the launch of a number of new online initiatives, aimed at increasing the number of people who use social networking websites as an integral part of their shopping experience.
In January Facebook launched a new discounting system called Facebook Deals, which offers special promotions to users of the site who ‘check-in’ at participating stores such as Argos, Debenhams and Benetton.
A1111|Earlier in the month Asos merged social networking and shopping with the introduction of the first fully integrated Facebook Store in Europe, allowing customers to buy, save, share and comment on its products without having to leave the social networking site.
Commenting on the launch of Fashion Finder, Asos CEO Nick Robertson stated: “We are always looking for new and better ways for our customers to discover fashion online.
“Asos Fashion Finder will feature the very best fashion from around the world all in one place.”
