Real estate investment trust British Land has appointed Lucinda Bell as its new Finance Director, effective from May 24th 2011.
Currently the company’s Deputy Finance Director, Bell will succeed Graham Roberts who has been at the business since January 2002.
The new Finance Director also joins the British Land board as an Executive Director, with immediate effect.
Chris Grigg, CEO of British Land, commented: “We thank Graham for his significant contribution to the company as Finance Director for the past nine years; he leaves with our very best wishes for the future.
“British Land has developed a very strong finance function under Graham’s leadership.”
Having joined the firm in 1991, Bell has held various jobs at the company and will now work alongside her predecessor to ensure there a smooth transition into the role.
Grigg added: “It is particularly pleasing that Graham’s successor is an internal appointment from this excellent team.
“Lucinda has worked for the company in a wide range of finance positions and has consistently demonstrated that she has the capability and experience to be an outstanding Finance Director.”
British Land announced two new appointments to its retail asset management team last month, with Clare Juniper becoming Asset Manager for Sheffield retail shopping centre Meadowhall and Lauren Smith taking charge of Drake Circus in Plymouth.
The 425,000 sq ft Drake Circus site is one of the business’s latest retail acquisitions, and was purchased in a deal worth £240 million in January.
