Employees at supply chain solutions provider TDG’s distribution centre in Mossend, Scotland have been commended for their work in securing a three-year contract extension with multichannel retailer Argos.
General Manager at TDG Gerry Friel said that the renewal of the partnership, which has been in place since 2004, “is a testament to the dedication of all staff and management” working at the site.
The company’s distribution centre staff have continually raised performance and improved standards over the years, he added.
As part of the new deal TDG will cross-dock Argos Direct Home Delivery and sister company Homebase’s kitchens & bathrooms. This is in addition to overseeing daily operations at the distribution hub, which is located in central Scotland between Glasgow and Edinburgh.
The Argos collaboration represents TDG’s first major contract win since being acquired by fellow supply chain business Norbert Dentressangle earlier this year.
The initial deal was agreed in November 2010, but a delay while European Commission approval was sought meant the takeover was only finalised last month.
Norbert partnered with investment group Douglas Bay Capital for the acquisition of TDG parent firm Laxey Logistics, which is part of the France-based organisation’s ambitious global expansion plans.
