Dragon’s Den star and retail boss Theo Paphitis will open the first of his new Boux Avenue stores in Glasgow later today.
The lingerie and nightwear brand, located in the city’s Buchan Galleries shopping centre, will start welcoming members of the public from 12:30 BST.
It is the first of five Boux Avenues to open in the UK over the coming seven days, with the retailer arriving in Manchester’s Trafford Centre, Kent’s Bluewater, St David’s Centre Cardiff and Lakeside Thurrock on Saturday, Sunday, Wednesday and Friday respectively.
Paphitis will tour the UK to be present at each of the store openings, which are a welcome addition to the retail landscape at a time when many companies are looking to downsize rather than expand.
Looking ahead to today’s launch, a statement on the Buchan Galleries website said: “The new store will be a luxurious shopping haven with gorgeous, romantic underwear with sizes up to a G cup.”
Customers should also expect an element of retail theatre when visiting Boux Avenue, with shops designed to create an up-market atmosphere.
Describing the in-store look, the retailer’s official blog states: “From digital screens playing our videos and flashing our imagery, to stunning silk mannequins and dozens of delicate little touches, each store is embellished with beautiful furniture and stylish decor to create a luxurious boutique feel, brimming with temptation.”
