Strictly Come Dancing judge and pop singer Alesha Dixon will perform live at the opening of Best Buy’s two new stores this month.
The electricals retailer is opening a new outlet at Lombardy Retail Park, Hayes on Friday April 22nd and in Cribbs Causeway Retail Park, Bristol on Saturday April 30th - and Dixon will be present to entertain customers with a free gig at each venue.
A spokesperson from Best Buy UK said: “The whole Best Buy team has been working hard to get everything ready for the openings this month, and the finish line’s in sight now.
“We can’t wait to open the doors and show customers what we’re all about.”
Singer Dixon will perform a five-track set at each gig, giving those present the chance to hear songs from her three albums including the chart hit The Boy Does Nothing.
The Hayes and Cribbs Causeway store openings will bring the total number of Best Buy outlets in the UK to eight, with outlets also set to open in Nottingham, Rotherham and Enfield before the end of 2011.
Best Buy is one of a long list of US retailers, which includes fashion specialists Forever 21 and Hollister, to have undertaken aggressive expansion strategies in Britain over the last year.
Last week it was also announced that high-end US women’s fashion brand Eileen Fisher will be opening two new stores in London later this year, as part of a wider growth plan for the retailer in the UK.
