Freight forwarding and supply chain management firm Damco has appointed Christian Bech Hoengaard as its new Global Head of Marketing.
The Dane joins from ferry operator Scandlines, where he was Head of Marketing and responsible for both the B2C and B2B departments, as well as advertising and e-commerce channels.
Hoengaard also spent nine years as Head of Corporate Marketing at logistics firm Clipper Group and has gained experience in most of the major areas of marketing in his career to date, including marketing strategy, business development, employer branding and PR.
Chief Commercial Officer of Damco Martin Thaysen commented: “With the appointment of Christian, we are able to reinforce our commercial organisation and develop our marketing efforts even further.”
The new recruit said: “I am pleased to become part of the energised Damco organisation.
“The opportunity to contribute to Damco’s continued success and to further develop the marketing capabilities is very appealing to me.”
His appointment comes after Damco named John McKail as its Head of Field Sales for northern UK in February.
Last year Damco launched a new service promising to help retailers to more efficiently source goods from overseas.
Dubbed Damco Retail Direct, the end-to-end logistics solution can help businesses reduce their landed costs by up to 20 per cent, according to the supply chain business.
