The payment service provider behind Clinton Cards’ new website is confident of the retail portal’s growth potential in the months ahead after teaming up with the card and gift specialist for the company’s e-commerce re-launch.
Realex Payments was one of a number of suppliers who helped Clintons modernise its multichannel offering through the unveiling of the new site last month, and it expects the company to expand online in due course.
Features of the new site allow customers to personalise gifts and cards by adding text and photos to products, and the online refresh is a sign that the retailer is looking to halt falling high street sales by focusing on its internet operation.
Business Development Manager at Realex Jon Sheard said he was looking forward to working with the retailer as its website develops.
“We are very happy to have been chosen by Clinton Cards and are excited about the growth possibilities of this channel for them,” he explained.
Last month Clinton Cards posted a three per cent decline in like-for-like sales for the 40 weeks to May 8th 2011, but the business has been introducing a number of initiatives in an attempt to help improve trading.
It recently launched into m-commerce with a new smartphone app and has installed web-based kiosks in some stores allowing customers to design their own cards. A loyalty card will also be unveiled this autumn.
