UK based furniture retailer DFS has today announced the appointment of Tim Stacey to a newly created role of Online & Business Development Director.
Stacey joins the firm from health & beauty giant Boots UK where he was Director of Healthcare Services and Solutions, a position he has held since August 2010.
He was also Director of Multichannel at Boots from 2006 until 2010 and looks well placed to help DFS expand its online capabilities and customer offering.
Ian Filby, CEO for DFS, commented: “We are delighted to welcome someone of Tim’s calibre to DFS and are excited to work with him as we look to develop our multi-channel offering, in particular our online proposition.
“Tim has extensive experience in the retail sector and will be an asset to the team.”
Whilst with Boots, the new recruit helped transform its multichannel business, most significantly through the re-platforming of Boots.com and the creation of its ‘health & wellbeing’ site BootsWebMD.com.
In his new role Stacey will report directly to Ian Filby and will concerntrate on developing new business initiative and enhancing DFS’ online platform.
Just last month the furniture specialist announced that it was merging its online and offline marketing strategies through a affiliate program, in order to widen the company’s reach.
