Simon Harrow promoted to new COO role at Kiddicare


Online baby & mother products retailer has promoted Simon Harrow to the newly created position of Chief Operating Officer (COO), it was confirmed today.

The e-tailer’s former Technology Officer will now be responsible for driving business growth through the execution of the company’s short-term strategic plan and working with CEO Scott Weavers-Wright in shaping the long-term vision for the firm.

Kiddicare has created the COO role in light of its takeover by Morrisons, which was completed in February this year, with Harrow seen as ideally placed to aid its future expansion.

Weavers-Wright commented: “We believe Simon will be a fundamental part of the future Kiddicare and Morrisons story and this new role is designed to recognise this. I am sure he will thrive in his new role.”

Excluding a brief stint working for marketing and advertising company BJL between 2008 and 2010, Harrow has been a part of Kiddicare’s meteoric rise in the nursery retail sector since 2004.

Before this he was Managing Director of Niosoft, a software development company which designed children’s web browsers, for seven months after he graduated from university.

Whilst with Kiddicare, he was part of the team that managed the migration to IBM Websphere, and is generally regarded as the force behind its new behavioural targeted email solution, the ECRM system.

Established as a family business in 1974, Kiddicare now offers 4,500 products online, runs a single company showroom in Peterborough and was bought by supermarket chain Morrisons earlier this year for £70 million.
