Clothing retailer Fashion Rocks is to open an outlet in Westfield Stratford City, it was confirmed today.

The designer clothing store will occupy a 12,000 sq ft double-height unit on The Street area of the state-of-the art shopping centre directly opposite the Hugo Boss store, which will open when the centre is officially unveiled on September 13th 2011.

Fashion Rocks was initially created by David Douglas and Angus Morrison, founders of fashion retailer USC, as a high end fashion charity event featuring musicians and international designers but since last year they have been working on creating a retail arm for the business.

A transactional website was launched in January selling an assortment of high end brands and its first store in Sheffield’s Meadowhall centre opened during the spring.

Angus Morrison, Chairman of Fashion Rocks, added: “We are delighted to bring Fashion Rocks onto the Westfield Stratford City stage.

“The UK and Europe is looking to the scheme to provide new innovative designs, ideas and experiences in the world of leading retail and leisure, and we feel Fashion Rocks can contribute strongly to this with its unique blend of experience and retail.”

Brands expected to feature in the Westfield store include Dolce & Gabbana, Boss, Velvet, Gaudi, Alice by Temperley, Just Cavalli, McQ, Juicy, Ash, Mulberry, Pretty Green, Burro and Junk de Luxe.

Several leading international youth fashion brands have already signed up to the east London site, such as The Sting, Forever 21, Uniqlo, Hollister and Superdry, showing Douglas and Morrison’s ambitions for their new brand.

Bill Giouroukos, Director of Operations for Westfield UK, said: “We are thrilled to welcome Fashion Rocks to Stratford.

“It is a brand that embodies the progressive and cutting-edge spirit here, taking shopping experience to the next level with new collection launches, fashion shows and celebrity influence to create a powerful retail brand.”
