Spanish fashion brand Bimba & Lola is to open its first UK store in shopping centre Westfield London, it was announced today.
Advised by commercial retail estate firm Cushman & Wakefield, the retailer has secured a 1,305 sq ft store on a ten-year lease on the ground floor of Westfield London, adjacent to fashion specialist Phase Eight.
Launched in 2006, Bimba & Lola specialises in accessories and ready-to-wear garments, and is currently present in 12 countries with a total of 115 stores across Europe, Latin America, Asia and the Middle East.
The latest London store is set to open in October and strengthens the retailer’s portfolio across Europe, joining outlets in Madrid, Lisbon and Paris.
Samantha Cuthbert-Brown from the central London retail team at Cushman & Wakefield welcomed the move, saying it proved London’s position as a destination for leading global retailers.
“London continues to be a magnet for exciting international brands and following Bimba & Lola’s outstanding international success they are now set to debut in the UK in one of London’s prime retail destinations.”
Westfield London is hoping to raise its profile amid stiff competition from east London offering Westfield Stratford City, which opened earlier this month and currently houses over 300 shops.
A number of these have debuted new store concepts and include digital offerings, hoping to entice customers to head to the prime shopping destination located opposite London’s new Olympic Stadium site.
