Specialist in UK wine, Majestic has today announced the appointment of Ben Nicholl as Commercial Sales Director for the company.
Nicholl will head the division of Majestic Wine which specialises in supplying to a range of commercial businesses.
Majestic Wine is the UK‘s largest specialist in the sector with 181 stores in the UK, a team of 45 commercial staff members with a current turnover of £50 million. Nicholl has been with the retailer for a number of years as he started with the company in 1994, moving to the commercial team in its King‘s Cross headquarters in 1998.
This follows the recent news of a total sales increase of 8.9 per cent to £280.3 million for the company.
For the 53 weeks to 2nd April 2012, sales to business customers grew 6.9% on last year and now represent 24.0% of total UK sales.
Nicholl has revealed that his favourite wine in the range is White Burgundy.
Majestic Wine Chief Executive Steve Lewis has said that Nicholl is right person for this promotion within the company: “Ben Nicholl has completed ten very successful years as Commercial Sales Manager and is ready to step up to this very challenging role.”
