Luxury fashion retailer LK Bennett has today announced the appointment of a new CEO as it refocuses on global expansion.

Didier Drouet, who has held senior positions at L‘Oreal, Cartier and LVMH, will succeed current CEO Robert Bensoussan, who will continue to operate as Executive Chairman, with immediate effect.

With nearly 30 years of experience in the retail industry, Drouet has a strong understanding of the European market, having worked as Director of European Retail at Salvatore Ferragamo in the late 90‘s and it is hoped that his experience will aid the brand as it seeks further growth.

Bensoussan also comes from a high-end background, having previously worked as CEO of Jimmy Choo and Christian Lacroix.

Commenting on Drouet‘s appointment, Bensoussan said: “Didier Drouet has a wealth of international experience in the fields of fashion, accessories and luxury, which will strengthen the growth of L.K.Bennett and capitalise on the many opportunities we have to develop the business both in the UK and internationally.”

In recent months, a slew of luxury designer retailers have extended their reach with new store openings overseas, with fashion label Louis Vuitton opening its first Maison store in Shanghai, China earlier this year, emphasising the firm position of the Chinese retail market.

Drouet said of his new role: “I am excited to join the L.K.Bennett team and look forward to building on the foundations in place to further develop the brand globally.”
