New designer outlet destination London Designer Outlet (LDO) has announced today that it has signed leading shoe retailer Clarks as its final anchor tenant.

Property investment and development company Quintain acted for LDO and announced that the shoe specialist has signed a 10 year lease and will open the 5,295 sq ft unit next year.

LDO now has a full line-up of anchor stores including Marks and Spencer, Cap, Nike, Superdry, Guess and US fashion brand Max Studio.

Clarks operates in 35 countries and is the biggest selling shoe brand in the country and it is hoped that its firm standing will entice shoppers to the 85-acre regeneration project.

A spokesperson for Clarks said: “Millions of the tourists flocking to London every year view shopping as a highlight of their visit.

“LDO will offer both Londoners and international tourists a unique and desirable new destination in the Capital and we are excited to be part of London Designer Outlet at this early stage.”

The landmark mixed-use project also houses 15 restaurants as well as a Cineworld cinema and the centre is set to open in Autumn next year.

Phil Cottingham, Head of Retail at Quintain, welcomed the latest deal as it seeks to strengthen the area‘s retail offer.

“We are delighted to have signed such a prestigious British brand at Wembley,” Cottingham said.

“Clarks will be a major draw for local shoppers and international visitors alike, completing the strong line-up of international outlet brands. LDO will be London‘s only designer outlet, so it‘s essential that we offer strong retail brands that are familiar names both in the UK and to overseas shoppers.

“To this end, LDO and Clarks are a perfect fit.”
