Fashion e-tailer Asos has announced the departure of its Head of Buying Ellen Andrews today.

Asos, which has capitalised on Black Friday in the US today by offering discounts on a number of its products, would not reveal the reason for Andrews‘ departure.

In October, the pure play e-tailer announced the appointment of Brian McBride, formerly Managing Director of Amazon, as Chairman as Lord Waheed Alli stepped down from the post as it seeks to expand further into international markets.

In March this year, Asos‘ Marketing Director Clare Dobbie was poached by women‘s fashion retailer Hobbs, though the company has had a strong year of sales despite such changes.

For the five months ending August 31st 2012, total retail sales leapt 32 per cent to £231.2 million while international sales rose 46 per cent.

Asos has set out a target of £1 billion sales per annum and it is hoped that a shift in its senior team will help it achieve this goal.

Commenting on Andrews‘ exit, an Asos spokesperson commented: “I can confirm that Ellen Andrews will be leaving the business on December 11th to pursue new projects.”
