For the first time, customers can also choose to donate their Freedom points earned through Barclaycard to a selection of charities including Marie Curie Cancer Care, Samaritans, Woodland Trust, UNICEF and Action for Children.

The news comes as recent research showed that Britons would support a store that raises money for charity.

Barclaycard has teamed up with 50 retailers including ASOS, Interflora and Waterstones to reward Barclaycard Freedom Rewards credit cardholders with triple Freedom points whilst buying through the new online store.

Cardholders can earn ten Freedom points per £1 spent at the Apple Store, Debenhams and Argos until 14 October.

Craig Evans, Director of Partnerships at Barclaycard, said: “We understand our customers like to shop online and want the flexibility to look for the best value without being tied to shopping at just one retailer. The Freedom Rewards card offers that flexibility and the new Freedom Rewards store is designed to make shopping easy and even more rewarding.”

Freedom Rewards cardholders can also earn double points at any supermarket and petrol station, in addition to online giants such as Odeon, Legoland, Boots and Amazon.
