Pets at Home upgrade distribution service


Pet care retailer Pets at Home has selected JDA Warehouse Management to support and improve service delivery to its stores and all-channel customers.

The pet firm, which was voted the best big company to work for in the Sunday Times poll this year, provides pet food, pet-related products, accessories and advice through over 350 UK stores.

The retailer’s dated warehouse management system (WMS), coupled with its recent acquisitions into the equine and veterinary sectors, prompted the decision to improve its WMS to support its continued growth as an all-channel retailer.

“As one of the leading specialty retailers in the UK, we believe it is important to make strategic investments to continue to improve the level of service we provide to our customers,” said Phil Hackney, logistics director, Pets at Home. “The JDA warehouse management system gives us a platform for future growth that will enable us to improve service levels, lower distribution costs and give us the flexibility to integrate any future acquisitions.”
