Luxury department store Fortnum & Mason has opened a new store in the UK for the first time in over 300 years in London‘s St Pancras International.

The 2,150 sq ft store, set to open at the Eurostar terminal on Friday, will be centred around Fortnum‘s famous tea offering with travellers able to enjoy an edited range of products from the tea salon, including 18 rare single estate teas and 10 classic blends. Smoked salmon, stilton, sweets, chocolates and Champagne will also be served.

Ewan Venters, chief executive of Fortnum & Mason, said: “The transformation of King‘s Cross from insalubrious corner of London into international gateway and home to some of the capital‘s most creative businesses and organisations is impressive.”

“Fortnum & Mason has been famous for servicing the needs of travellers and explorers since the early 18th century, and we look forward to doing this for the next three hundred years from our new home in St Pancras.”

Kings Cross has attracted recent investors such as Google who are setting up new headquarters in the area in 2016.
