Family footwear retailer Clarks is to open two new stores in Istanbul, Turkey.

The British company will take one store at the Mall of Istanbul and the other at Ozdilek Park.

Mall of Istanbul, a 155,000 sq m development with 350 stores, is one of Turkey‘s largest retail projects in recent years. It will showcase brands including Debenhams, H&M and Victoria‘s Secret when it opens, along with Clarks‘ 150 sq m store, on Friday.

Located in Istanbul‘s central business district, the 40,000 sq m Ozdilek Park – which is scheduled to open this September – will house 145 stores with retailers such Mango and H&M set to join Clarks and its 155 sq m outlet.

Cushman & Wakefield‘s Istanbul-based retail team will be providing support to Clarks as it looks to open a total of at least 25 new stores in Turkey over the next four years.

Togrul Gonden, managing partner of Cushman & Wakefield in Turkey, said: “We anticipate Clarks will benefit from extremely high levels of footfall, and not just initially – these new schemes are expected see significant year-round visitor volumes.”

The firm posted a record turnover of £1.4bn last year, with operating profits of £115.8m.

Earlier this month it was reported that Clarks will measure children‘s feet with iPads across all its stores in a bid to enhance in-store consumer experience.
