The nights won’t just be illuminated by Christmas tree lights this Christmas, as Kohl’s department store in the US sets to keep its lights on overnight in the lead up to Christmas.
In a Press Release, the department store stated that it would keep certain stores open for over 100 hours, starting from December 19th until Christmas Eve. The Wisconsin based company aims to “inspire and empower families to lead fulfilled lives, with the opening hours working perfectly for those wanting to grab any last minute stocking fillers.
Kohl’s has planned for the additional working hours by hiring extra holiday staff. It has also arranged for customers buying products online to have their own reserved parking space when picking up their orders, in 100 locations across the US.
Savings will be available across its 1,163 stores to draw customers in and a spokesperson from Kohl’s said that preparations for the event are already underway. The department store has stated that customers, ‘will be inspired to select the perfect gift for everyone on their list and shop whenever it is most convenient for them’.
With most stores offering longer opening hours in the lead up to Christmas, it will be interesting to see which will follow suit and be the next to offer the 24 hour experience.
