House of Fraser has poached John Lewis’ CTO Julian Burnett, who will take on a role as Chief Information Officer at the former retailer effective 5th October 2015.
Burnett has over 25 years’ experience working for consumer facing businesses. “He has a successful track record of shaping, architecting and delivering high impact technology enabled business transformation; and re-energising, developing and leading high performing IT functions and consulting practices,” the company said in a statement.
His appointment comes as the British department store chain continues developing its multichannel offer. Shares of retail purchases made online and via mobile devices is increasing at an extremely rapid pace, and like other major retailers House of Fraser must keep up with changing consumer trends.
Nigel Oddy, CEO of House of Fraser, said: “We are delighted to announce Julian’s appointment today and look forward to welcoming him to the House of Fraser team. His expertise and experience will be invaluable in delivering an IT strategy that further enhances and enables our growing multichannel proposition.”
