Waitrose has launched its full 60-second advert across its social media channels today, and will light up televisions from Sunday 9 November.

The upmarket grocer‘s ad is set to the 1948 jazz classic ‘Everybody Eats When they Come to my House‘, finished with a “Whatever makes your Christmas, make it with Waitrose” tagline.

The campaigns aim is to capture the merriment of togetherness. “We celebrate with food, we unwind with food, we get to know each other with food,” said Waitrose Marketing Director Rupert Thomas.

“Delicious things to eat make the moments that matter even more memorable, especially at Christmas.”

Waitrose kicks off its Christmas trading with a jaunt through the foods that are synonymous with the festive holiday. The campaign invites some of the leading grocer‘s suppliers and chef Heston Blumenthal to inspire Brits with colourful festive favourites such as chocolate drinks, and assortments of cheese and nutty biscuits.

It was put together by the ad agency Adam & Eve/DBB, the creators of the nation‘s beloved John Lewis adverts since 2011. The British department store retailer, sister company to Waitrose, has become renowned for its Christmas advertisements. It marks the start of the season when the ad first airs.
