Notonthehighstreet.com has poached Net-a-Porter‘s Chief Technology Officer for its own CTO position.

Hugh Fahy will join the online marketplace on 8 February to build on the technology foundations and oversee the tech team at the company‘s Silicon Upon Thames headquarters.

In a statement the retailer said “Hugh will drive strategies that ensure continued innovation and adoption of the latest technologies to create a world-leading e-commerce platform empowering creative small businesses and delivering an effortlessly engaging experience for customers. He will be responsible for creating a programme that embeds the latest in data science at the heart of the business, to create the best platform experience for Partners and customers alike.”

Fahy was CTO at the Net-a-Porter group from April 2014, where he led an agile transformation and technology investment to improve performance, productivity and business alignment whilst delivering technology in support of new initiatives such as the group‘s NetSet social commerce platform and the launch of the beauty category.

Prior to that Fahy was Director of Development at Betfair, where he led a £25m, three year programme to rebuild Betfair‘s 24/7 trading platform and customer system. As well as leading technology‘s involvement in the IPO, he helped transform a global 500+ Agile product and engineering team – delivering a cost benefit of more than £20M annually whilst more than doubling net delivery.
