Los Angeles fashion retailer American Apparel has named Paul Charron as the new Chairman of its board.

Formerly the Chief Executive of Liz Claiborne, which is now known as Kate Spade, Charron has also served as a senior advisor at Warburg Pincus, a private equity firm, in addition to spending six years as Chairman of Campbell Soup Company‘s board.

Charron will be joining the board along with two other veterans, according to Reuters.

The teen retailer, which recently emerged from bankruptcy, welcomes Susan Davidson who is the current head of Scoop boutique and design house Zac Posen. Davidson has also worked in senior positions at Liz Claiborne and Bloomingdale‘s. Bruce Fetter, who runs luxury women‘s knitwear retailer St John‘s Knits will also join the American Apparel board.

American Apparel is optimistic that its new appointments will distance itself from its almost two yearlong battle after it ousted former CEO and Chairman Dov Charney from its board.

A spokesperson from American Apparel declined to comment.
