Job Description

This longstanding non-food retailer requires an experienced unit or multi-site manager for a store in North London. As a flagship manager for the brand you must be driven and able to inspire a team in order to achieve the company objectives and performance targets. An emphasis on security and experience of big box type retail would be a great advantage. As this is a crucial position, only people with Store Manager experience would be suitable. This is not the opportunity for aspiring Assistant Managers. Some of the day to day duties include: * Preparation of a weekly schedule of days and times to be worked for each employee as per designated store times. * Ensuring staffing levels are appropriate whilst controlling staff leave and absence. * Building and establishing a customer base in order to develop and grow the business. * Leading the merchandising and displaying of products in order to maximise sales. * Interview and employ staff in accordance with company procedure. * Train and develop existing members of staff and the induction/training of new recruits. * Discipline/counselling of staff if required in accordance with HR policy and procedure. * Staff reviews/appraisals. * Maintaining a high level of security throughout the premises. * To attend store at any time due to emergencies. * Organising banking and all store administration to company deadlines. * Monitoring, rotating and controlling of stock/stock records as per company policy. * Building a sales team installing an excellent store atmosphere. The client would prefer retailers from most non-food sectors, i.e. DIY, Home wares, Furniture etc but all backgrounds will be considered. Experience of a £1m+ turnover is absolutely essential.
