Job Description

A leading high street retailer is looking for a Head of Financial Planning & Analysis to join its team. The successful candidate will be responsible for the provision of commercial and forward looking management reporting and analysis to facilitate decision support. You will be the key liaison for all financial decision-making affecting the Buying & Marketing teams. The Head of Financial Planning & Analysis will also be tasked with: * Working in conjunction with the Buying & Marketing departments analysing viability of new business concepts & strategies, and will act as key liaison for all financial decision-making affecting these teams * Assisting in the development of Merchandising KPI’s * Providing business support during the budgeting process and monthly review with Buying & Marketing department heads * Involvement in the review, development and implementation of systems and processes to support business requirements * Working with other areas of the business to provide clarity where required on any inventory or margin related issues * Overseeing the cross system integrity between merchandise and financial systems * Keeping up to date with all issues all affecting gross margin –supplier contribution, markdown capture and compliance, amendments to supplier terms etc * Delivering robust forecasting on all areas of sales, stock and margin costs * Overseeing the delivery of periodical reporting and analysis produced by the team ensuring that they are consistently delivered to high standards in terms of quality, quantity, timeliness and accuracy * Managing, recruitment, training, motivating and developing the Commercial Financial Analysts within the team. The ideal candidate will be CIMA/ACCA qualified with considerable similar experience, preferably in the retail industry or similar, where proven inventory/margin accounting experience can be demonstrated.
