Job Description

As the Senior Scientist, you will support issues management in cooperation with other functions, such as Corporate Affairs, Legal & Quality. Plan and deliver Scientic & Regulatory Affairs & Nutrition strategies and activities for the product categories. This will be according to business plans and strategies, so to enable efficient implementation of growth and brand value goals and programs. Ensure Scientic & Regulatory Affairs & Nutrition experts support, intelligence services and ideas to stakeholders in the development and judgment of business plans, strategies, concepts, projects and on issues management. You will also be a steady partner in development projects to assure focus of resources on concepts that will be compliant; You will proactively propose creative alternatives, alert partners in advance to trigger timely corrective measures. Ensure accurate, reliable and timely regulatory checks on specifications,ls/certifications to enable efficient implementation of projects and business plans.Proactively ensure appropriate infrastructure and tools, maintain /expand networks to fulfil tasks, particularly in terms of actual food regulations, standards, local rules and processes relevant to the products in the GCC & NM via close cooperation with internal and external partners. Proactively monitor, anticipate, identify, pre-empt emerging Scientic & Regulatory Affairs & Nutrition issues relevant to the food categories and business in GCC & NM via close cooperation with internal and external networks; You will communicate potential impact, risks and opportunities to relevant partners or higher management (up to and including directors level) to have solutions planned and implemented. In alignment with business strategies, support the development of company positions on emerging legislation or key issues, particularly in Arabic, through close co-operation with internal and external partners, represent my client at local GOs and NGOs to favourably influence food regulations and standards, demonstrate technical competency and integrity to create trust with external bodies and officials. Support resource and skills planning in Scientic & Regulatory Affairs & Nutrition - GCC & NM, as well as technical and non-technical skills training to meet business and strategic needs and to grow junior staff. Practice team work and management, lead junior Scientic & Regulatory Affairs & Nutrition professionals, inspiring trust and creating an open and inclusive working environment. Requirements: * General product, technology and quality understanding. * Advanced knowledge of food regulations in geography of responsibility. * Mature understanding of regulatory and law making systems * Ability to quickly, efficiently search, find and absorb information * Fast understanding and application of legal and regulatory texts * Networking, influencing and communication * Comprehensive strategic thinking, judgement, decision taking * Good interaction and efficient working in cross-functional and cross-cultural environment. * Ability to identify and appropriately address issues and to speak up. * Good sense and understanding of business needs, strategies, urgencies * Efficiently dealing with complexity and ambiguity * Many years of overall RD&Q and/or SA and/or RA experience * Many years local SA and/or RA experience in GCC & New Markets in the Middle and Near East Region * Proven track of managing and delivering against multiple international projects * Fluent English and Arabic
