Job Description

This leading FMCG business is looking for an experienced Product Developer to play a key role in the ongoing development of its own-label products. You will be tasked with identifying gaps in the current range and opportunities in the market to deliver a first class own-label range, these categories will be meat, poultry and fish categories so experience in these is highly beneficial. This will be a key focus for the business moving forward in terms of product development and improving the current offer. You will be the key interface for suppliers and will work closely with them on all launches. Responsibilities will include: * Implementing the own-brand vision and strategy. * Product development. * Researching and building long term strategic partnerships with key suppliers. * Playing a pivotal role in managing the critical path from end to end. * Identifying gaps in the current range in comparison with competitors and the market. * Reviewing the end to end process including post-launch through reviews. To be considered, you must have a proven background in food product development or buying with high levels of exposure to NPD from either the retail or supplier side and a passion for food. You must be able to communicate cross-functionally at all levels and influence across the business in terms of Buying, Supply Chain, Technical and Marketing. This is an excellent role in which you will play a pivotal role in the ongoing focus on own-label product development.
