Job Description

A unique opportunity has arisen for an experienced Non Food Buyer to join one of the UKs leading retailers within their furniture department. You will be responsible for driving the product strategy through original and innovative thinking and through effective management of your team and suppliers you will ensure that the furniture product offering leads the UK and European market. This opportunity is considered as a high profile role within the business as they look to expand their product offering to support their on-going growth. Other key responsibilities include: * Management of an Assistant and Trainee Buyer. * Work closely with the merchandise, design and technical teams to jointly agree the seasonal strategy and critical path. * European and Far East travel to source new trends, products and monitor suppliers. * Present selection meetings with your team. * Buying the range according to future trends, seasonal trends, market variations and key competitors. Successful candidates will need to have a wealth of retail buying experience from another nationwide retailer and already established at Buyer level.You will need to have a natural eye for trends and possess a creative flair as you will be working very closely with design teams. Experience of buying furniture ranges would be extremely advantageous although a strong homewares buyer or product developer would also be considered. You will also need to be able to demonstrate 1st class leadership skills coupled with market knowledge and passion for buying furniture/home and identifying key trends.
