About the role This is a senior Designer position and is integral to the delivery of our vision for Home, bringing strong style/ design credentials to our proposition. The vacancy has been created through the growth our of Design team, and is essential to our ambitions to deliver the SKU growth and range potential. The ins and outs: * Designing hard goods and surface pattern products for our Kids Home ranges. * Following through all product development with buyers and suppliers to completion, administration and feedback tasks are a key part of this role. * Leading a review of the market, and supporting the design manager in developing key trends and developing overall trend direction. * Developing colour direction for each season and feeding back to suppliers to ensure colour is correct. * Working directly with buyers and merchandise planners to set the strategy and product direction for each season for your areas of responsibility. What you will need: * A proven track record of designing for the high street retail department stores, grocers or a supplier/ freelance background directly for home hard goods is essential. * Able to design across categories in kids home from textiles to hard goods. * Excellent experience in designing surface pattern and adapting existing pattern onto 3D products. * Have gained a strong training in commercial hard goods, surface pattern and textile design, degree level or similar, and to be able to present a strong retail home wares portfolio of work, including sketching skills and CAD design usage such as Photoshop/ Illustrator/ 3D modelling packages. * Great eye for product; creativity, flair and originality. * Ability to interpret the needs of the mass market and supermarket environment. * Able to work independently and move their areas of responsibility forward. * Good commercial sense. * Strong presentation and communication skills at all levels.
