Job Description

JOB DESCRIPTION Position: Assistant Merchandiser Division/Department: Merchandise Primary Function: To assist the Merchandiser in maximising sales and margin through effective planning and trading of the division. KEY TASKS To assist the merchandiser in utilising the historic data & trends complete the planning and the implementation of department and product strategy for sales, profit and stock in line with agreed objectives and in line with the critical path dates. To assist the merchandiser in managing all elements of range planning, sales planning, spaceplanning, profit planning and terminal stock. To ensure range planes,ritical path and are progressed effectively. Ensure correct balance, depth and breadth of content within range plan down to store level. Ensure target cost and selling process meet agreed planning parameters for the department and deliver value. Ensure volumes are planned in line with selling period and sell through. To assist the merchandiser in planning (in line with the range plan process) and managing promotions to agreed objectives (content, volume, timing, sales and margin) and evaluate, review and react as required to potentialise ongoing. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES. To ensure optimum merchandise availability on designated departments. To control co-ordination of open-to-buy on designated departments ensuring sales and intake are consistent with agreed stock levels and adjusted in line with over/underperformance and authorised. To plan and manage stockbuy requirement by month/division/profile to ensure productcontent/volumes/timing is in line with agreed objectives and planned as part of the rangedevelopment process. To ensure that core lines are maintained at appropriate stock levels to maximise sales. To identify slow selling lines and propose relevant promotional/markdown action on designated departments. Management of and training and development of allocators To effectively manage allocation and replenishment of stock. To manage the EDF file as required ensuring all information is accurately updated asrequired. Supplier Management (agreed areas) on a weekly basis ensure on time/in full deliveries and compliance with Company requirements for delivery. To develop a working knowledge of stores / store types and competition through store visits. To ensure specific weekly reports / tasks are completed on time as agreed with the merchandiser To liase / communicate with stores / area managers To Develop a thorough knowledge of existing systems and involvement as required in theimplementation of new systems We request that candidates send their CV as a Microsoft Word document where possible.
