Job Description

This business is an international company who are experts in maximising client retail revenue streams for Travel, Aviation and Airline businesses. My client allows for businesses to outsource part or all of their on-board retail operations and logistics processes to become a one-stop shop! In this Head of Category position you will be responsible for the food & drinks retail business across this specific category over cross functionally a number of clients with the ultimate goal of driving revenues and profits of the retail offering including store, magazine or on-board airlines /ships.

Responsibilities include:

  • Drive sales and profit through the strategic planning of the category alongside active competitor analysis, whilst satisfying customer needs
  • Maintain sales and profit according to budget within a short, medium and long-term business plan
  • competitor analysis & looking at new product development opportunities
  • Proposal and presentation of Retail Pricing
  • Daily, weekly and periodic revenue & sales targets VS forecasts.
  • Design, communication and marketing of incentives - for external clients to deliver on new promotions &also to turn around older stock and minimise waste.
  • Design, forecasting and implementation of promotions
  • Oversee the retail aspects of the Magazine process and strategic direction
  • Briefing of range managers of strategy requirements for range changes
  • Design and management of promotional calendar and range change schedule
  • Managing & Training external stakeholders to ensure all requirements are captured.

To be successful in the position you must have -

  • Experience of maintaining and developed supplier relationships and influence a number of different stakeholder to execute the food category plan.
  • Category Management, Retail Promotions or Buying experience within retail food, FMCG non-food, Foodservice or supplier background.
  • Highly developed negotiation and analytical skills, teamed with an acute commercial awareness to help understand market conditions
  • Must to open to some international travel
  • Must hold a Full driving License
  • Have lead and coached to deliver outstanding results as part of a team
  • Excellent communication at all levels
