Kingston-upon-Thames based shopping centre The Bentall Centre has leased out three retail units to US fashion retailers rarely seen in the UK.
Hollister is a brand owned by US fashion giant Abercrombie & Fitch and it will be taking over two units at a combined size of 6,200 sq ft on the ground floor of the mall.
Outdoor fashion retailer Timberland will be taking the other unit, around 2,000 sq ft in size, and like the Hollister store it will be on a ten-year lease.
The Bentall Centre, at the heart of Kingston’s retail area, is jointly owned by Aviva Linked Property Fund and Meyer Bergman.
Mark Gamble, Executive Director of Asset Management at Meyer Bergman, commented: “Lettings to such high-end retailers such as Hollister and Timberland are a true reflection of The Bentall Centre’s ability to draw and retain the best quality tenants and the ongoing attractiveness of the centre as a retail destination.
“These brands will complement an already strong tenant mix and enhance the overall shopping experience for customers.”
Hollister opened its first UK store in London in 2008 and its Kingston outlet will be its 14th in the UK continuing its European expansion plan.
The two new stores will join other recent international retailers to join The Bentall Centre after lettings to Superdry, Tommy Hilfiger and Pandora.
Gareth Evans of Aviva Investors said: “These important lettings represent our ongoing commitment to provide a vibrant retailing environment that meets the expectations of our brand savvy customers.”
