Providing a platform for simple shopping and on-the-go purchases are the driving forces behind multichannel retailer QVC’s updated iPhone app.
Changes to the existing application will include a ‘Buy Now’ feature which will enable existing customers to purchase QVC goods using their account number and pin, whilst new customers can browse on their phones but must call to order.
The free app gives customers access to the shopping channel’s full range of more than 15,000 products and allows them to see reviews and ratings for each product. Special daily deals will also be highlighted.
Commenting on the launch, Director of Interactive Commerce at QVC Gina Deeble said: “We are always looking at ways to make shopping with us easier and our updated iPhone app gives customers on-the-go a wonderful browsing and ordering experience.”
QVC has also indicated that the app should soon be available on other mobile formats, such as Android, meaning that the shopping channel will be accessible online, on TV and on mobile.
“We’re confident customers will love the app as they can browse through our entire range of items in stock whilst the featured content highlights our daily broadcast promotions in case they can’t get to a TV,” Deeble added.
This improvement further adds to the idea that mobiles are the retail tool of the future as an increasing number of retailers switch their focus to harnessing the potential of m-commerce.
As smartphone sales continue to grow, so it appears does the m-commerce market.
