Womenswear retailer Aurora Fashions has teamed up with technology provider DigiPos Store Solutions as part its international expansion strategy.
DigiPos has developed a multi-brand POS platform, which can be tailored to local market conditions and can be supported by the fashion business’s UK IT services team.
Aurora Fashions owns the Coast, Oasis and Warehouse companies in the UK, but the new POS solution was first rolled out in an outlet in Munich, Germany, which houses three of the retailer’s young clothing brands.
Ian Patterson, Managing Director at DigiPoS, explained: “We are excited to have launched this breakthrough technology into the retail sector, and proud to be working with the strong brands in the Aurora portfolio.
“Today’s retailers should take advantage of the cloud to simplify their - often complex - POS solutions.
“Where the model wins is that it helps the right people access data at the right time.
“It is an enabling and empowering technology, which is also resilient and very secure, and, I believe, it is set to change the way the retail sector operates.”
DigiPos worked closely with Aurora to develop the model in order to achieve the best possible results for both parties.
Aurora’s decision comes at a time when many retailers, such as Clinton Cards, The Co-operative and Spar, are moving towards in-store contactless payment.
One key goal for retailers in this current economic climate is to provide quick and efficient methods of payment to consumers, who are increasingly looking for convenience in all areas of their lives.
