British Land makes two new retail appointments

Property company British Land has today confirmed two significant additions to its retail asset management team.

Clare Juniper and Lauren Smith will be reporting directly to existing Head of Retail Assets Ben Grose at British Land’s head office at York House.

Juniper, who becomes Asset Manager for Meadowhall, comes with plenty of property experience having previously worked at Schroders and Lend Lease where she played a major role in schemes such as Bluewater.

Lauren Smith, who takes charge of the newly acquired Drake Circus centre in Plymouth, joins the real estate company from Grosvenor where she played a part in several major schemes

Grose said: “As we continue to expand our retail portfolio, and following the recent purchases of Plymouth and Barnstaple, we are delighted to welcome Clare and Lauren to the British Land retail asset management team.

“They are both great additions bringing with them an in-depth knowledge and understanding of the shopping centre market, together with proven track records that will perfectly complement our experienced and highly-regarded asset management team”

British Land took control of the 425,000 sq ft Drake Circus last month in a deal worth around £240 million.
