Fashion retailer French Connection has joined forces with software solutions specialist Maginus to improve the performance of its website during peak periods.
The Maginus Cloud Services system will enable the iconic retailer to be more flexible with its online requirements and have a system in place that mirrors its trading patterns.
A joint statement from the firms released today said a key aim of the partnership is to bring down French Connection’s online costs as the Cloud system ensures fees rise in line with usage levels.
French Connection’s move to update its website comes during a period that has seen many UK-based fashion retailers focus attention on their online offerings.
Doug Gardener, IT Director at French Connection, said: “We needed to upgrade our existing e-commerce solution to a modern resilient, scalable and high performance platform.
“During Christmas we required twice the normal capacity with a peak requirement of five times our normal capacity in the middle of the month.”
French Connection has said it expects online sales to continue to rise in the months ahead, and all transactions will now be handled by Maginus Cloud Services.
Earlier this month French Connection announced that profit before tax would reach almost £7 million for the 52 weeks to January 31st. The company will hope the implementation of new technology will contribute to its continued success in 2011.
