WHSmith signs 3 year Paypoint contract


Variety retailer WHSmith has announced that it is renewing its contract with payment solutions provider for a further three years.

Paypoint has managed the secure payment service for since it was re-launched in December 2007 with transactional capability.

WHSmith has said that it has been continually impressed with the reliability and robustness of Paypoint’s payment platform which has helped to support high volumes of traffic and sales over the last three years.

Mark Stephenson, Operations Manager WHSmith comments: “Brand reputation is a key factor for WHSmith, which is why we needed a reliable payment solution to help us expand our offering from an established high street business to a fully functioning ecommerce store.

In January the retailer announced that sales fell by four per cent over the Christmas trading period but profits had met expectations, with the company continuing with its restructuring process.
