Two new Best Buy UK stores will open next month, at Cribbs Causeway Retail Park in Bristol and Lombardy Retail Park in Hayes, it was announced today.
Employees at the stores are currently midway through their training programmes, as they prepare to serve customers with the latest technology products and advice.
Best Buy’s Blueshirts and Geek Squad teams comprise groups of in-store experts who are able to offer consumers guidance on the latest market gadgets and other services related to new technology.
Steve Jensen, Managing Director of Best Buy UK, said: “I know I speak for all of our Blueshirts and Geek Squad Agents who are currently in the middle of their nine-week training academy when I say we can’t wait to open the doors to our Hayes and Bristol stores in April.
“Like in all our stores there are no dummy devices on show, with all of the products and services - including tablets and internet TV - working and ready to try out.
“This means our teams can better help our customers choose and demonstrate how to get the most out of what they buy so it really works for them.”
Best Buy has opened six stores in the UK since it crossed the Atlantic last year as part of a joint venture with UK electricals retailer Carphone Warehouse, and its consultative approach to retailing appears to be influencing the strategies of a number of other UK-based businesses.
Telecoms specialist O2 Retail and Currys owner Dixons Retail - through its Black concept store in Birmingham - have recently announced initiatives that reflect consumers’ growing demand for greater in-store product interaction and tailored customer service.
Having opened shops in Thurrock, Hedge End, Merry Hill, Aintree, Croydon and Derby, Best Buy UK is set to add premises in Nottingham, Rotherham and Enfield later in 2011.
