Debenhams to use Flying Brands’ flower service


Department store group Debenhams has partnered with multichannel retailer Flying Brands to provide a new wedding flower service to customers.

Flying Brands’ Flowers and Gifts Division has won a contract to offer a specialist weddings flower service across Debenhams’ nationwide chain of stores, commencing this summer.

Trading at Flying Brands has slowed in recent months, with the company citing increased competition from supermarkets and online players as a reason for stuttering sales.

Today’s announcement, however, is part of the company’s goal of developing more retail and corporate partnerships, and will open the brand to a wider audience.

Stephen Cook, CEO of Flying Brands, commented: “This marks an important step in the evolution of our flowers business.

“We will continue to seek expansion opportunities in this market and believe that this will be the first of a series of partnerships.”

In addition to Flowers & Gifts, Flying Brands’ business divisions also include Garden and Dealtastic.

The retail group operates a number of businesses within these departments such as Garden Centre Online, which it acquired last year.
