The UK’s fourth largest grocer Morrisons has signed a new six-year deal with business support group Xerox for the management of all its in-store marketing communication.
Xerox will also look after the supermarket’s in-store promotional material and shopper magazines, improving the process for informing customers about the latest deals.
Deploying its Enterprise Print Services (EPS) solution, Morrisons’ new partner aims to help the business better manage its entire print and marketing resources.
Richard Lancaster, Marketing Director at the supermarket, said: “Morrisons succeeds by exceeding our shoppers’ expectations.
“Our customers trust us to deliver consistently high quality food at reliably low prices; we trust Xerox to do the same in terms of our marketing print needs.”
He added that outsourcing this part of the company’s marketing strategy will free up time for the Morrisons team to focus on its core business functions of bringing fresh food to its growing customer base.
The latest Kantar Worldpanel data shows that Morrisons increased its grocery market share to 11.9 per cent in the 12 weeks to May 15th 2011.
Sales were up 5.6 per cent on the equivalent period one year before, meaning the Bradford-based supermarket is currently outgrowing the overall sector which grew 4.8 per cent over that time.
