Rebecca Singleton has today been announced as the new Marketing Director at leading grocery chain Morrison, joining from grocery sector rivals Sainsbury‘s.

At Sainsbury‘s, Singleton was Head of Non-food Marketing, where she recently led the launch of the retailer‘s hugely successful new Gok Wan clothing range.

She will join Morrisons at the end of March and will assume responsibility for corporate brand, advertising, in-store marketing and print services for her new employer, and will report directly to Corporate Marketing and Operations Director Richard Lancaster.

Lancaster will continue to have have overall responsibility for all marketing communications, corporate campaigns, and merchandising, as well as space & format, but it is clear that the supermarket is looking to grow on the success it had in 2011.

Morrisons has increased market share over the last 12 months and has looked to expand its non-food offering, an area where Singleton‘s experience will be invaluable.

As part of the reshuffle, Commercial Director of Services Simon Eastwood will be moving to the new role of Customer Experience Director reporting directly into Group Commercial Director Richard Hodgson.

Hodgson commented: “Maintaining the momentum of our marketing activity and putting customer experience at the heart of every thing we do are key to delivering Morrisons‘ ambitious plans for 2012. These moves ensure we have the right talent in the right places.”
