Phil Streatfield has today been appointed the new Supply Chain and Business Efficiency Director of high street pharmacist and healthcare retailer Lloydspharmacy.
With both a strong retail and pharmaceutical background, Streatfield will take on a board-level role overseeing the end-to-end supply chain, business efficiency improvement, and IT, including the ongoing roll-out of the chain‘s SAP business management software.
Before gaining both supply chain and IT experience at leading companies such as Woolworths, Marks & Spencer and GlaxoSmithKline, he trained as an analytical chemist and also has a Masters in Business Administration and a PhD in Organisational Change.
Although Streatfield formally joined the business in November of last year, his appointment has only just been confirmed.
Streatfield commented on his appointment: “It‘s fantastic to have a role that brings together my experience in the pharmaceutical industry with my retail supply chain knowledge.
“There is a lot of pressure in the retail world at the moment and there is real energy at Lloydspharmacy to make a difference to how we support peoples‘ healthcare. Improvements to the supply chain and business productivity will allow staff to spend more time with customers.
“The challenge is to bring together our 1,640 stores to generate some national leverage.”
In 2010 Lloydspharmacy recorded an annual turnover of £1.8 billion and dispensed over 150 million items to customers.
